Help me build Orvaldar
Orvaldar is growing one carefully checked step at a time. If you enjoy the free prototype or want to help this world take shape, you can make a one-time contribution of your choice.
I’m Michael, the solo developer behind Hedgehog Studios. I’m building Orvaldar for the freedom to earn a living, get to know a place and set off on an adventure when you choose. My ambition is a boundless fantasy world that keeps moving around you, without a chosen one or a compulsory main quest.
I plan turn-based combat with the tension of chess: where you stand, when you act and how you use an ally should matter more than fast reactions. Peaceful work and dangerous journeys should both leave their mark.
Your name, one lasting profile
With your optional chosen public nickname:
- Every confirmed contribution qualifies for one name in the game credits.
- From €50 in total, your profile also receives one permanent name allocation at a memorial or cemetery. These places will be distributed around the world.
- From €200 in total, your profile receives one permanent NPC name allocation instead of the memorial or cemetery allocation. The same credits entry remains.
The thresholds include €50 and €200. Repeated contributions upgrade one profile; they do not create extra entries or multiple world allocations. Larger amounts have the same highest recognition level. Totals use confirmed original EUR amounts after refunds; disputed or uncertain payments do not qualify. Stripe fees are not deducted from your recognition total.
World allocations are reservations until their game content is implemented and reviewed. No memorial location or NPC has been delivered yet. The free prototype and devlog remain available without paying. Support does not buy or reserve a game copy, grant ownership or guarantee completion or a release date. Hedgehog Studios is a commercial project; this is not a charitable donation and has no charitable donation certificate.
Payment and your chosen name
Stripe handles payment on its separate secure page. The base amount is EUR; Stripe may offer a local currency and shows its conversion. Recognition uses the original EUR amount. I receive no full card number or security code.
After Stripe confirms a payment, you may choose a public nickname once for your profile. You can also remain unnamed. I preserve accents and accept only characters present in the current game font, up to 32 characters and 96 UTF-8 bytes. An unsupported name can be corrected before saving.
Use the same checkout email to combine repeated contributions, including payments from another browser. I retain only a private keyed fingerprint of that email in the supporter registry. Keep your private recovery code to manage the same name in another browser. Knowing an email gives no access to its profile. You may withdraw publication consent at any time. See the privacy notice and terms.
Questions or a payment made in error?
Write to hello@orvaldar.com with the payment date, amount and Stripe reference. Never send a full card number or your recovery code. I review refund requests individually; your mandatory statutory rights remain unaffected.
